Summer Silhouettes and retiring lists.

May the 4th be with you crafters.

I wish I had some fantastic Star Wars related craft to share, but I really am not that organised! Instead I'll tell you about the retiring list from Stampin' Up!

As a demonstrator it is a bitter-sweet time as it's exciting to see all the new things in the catalogue ( we get a sneak peek) but it's sad to see things that I really like retire. As a customer, it's a fabulous time as you get reduced Stampin' Up! items.

I'd like to share a card I made with the retiring sets "Summer Silhouettes" and "Petite Pairs". As I was making this card, a lot of the embellishments sold out, so if you see something that you like, make sure to snap it up quickly!

The card is made from whisper white heavy card stock which is cut to A5 and scored to A6. The mat is made from blackberry bliss card stock which has sadly sold out, but I have substituted rich razzleberry in the product list. The inks used are mossy meadow, blackberry liss and lost lagoon, but as they have sold out, I have substituted pool party, old olive and rich razzleberry.

Summer Silhouettes wood mounted set is now reduced to £17.60, which makes it even cheaper than the clear mounted set. It is a bargain as it is such a versatile set.

Petite Pairs is a lovely set for sentiments, each sentiment has a little extra text to go with it, You can put this extra bit with the sentiment on the front of the card like I did, or put it inside the card to give it a really professional finish.

If you don't what to shell out on a lot of ink pads right away but you want a lot of colours, then buying a pack of pens to colour the stamps in before stamping on the paper would give you a lot of colours inexpensively and get you stamping right away. You could easily make this card with the 2015-2017 in colour pens, juat make sure to breathe on the stamp before you stamp it to reactivate the ink.
The ribbon is the sold out tangelo twist stitched satin, but the melon mambo version of it is still available and a bargain £5.78 for ten yards. The ribbon is tied in a bow using the fork bow technique, check back this week for a video tutorial on this technique.

The products that are available to order to make this card are:
