French foliage resist

Good afternoon everyone. With Father's Day just behind us I have been thinking more and more about masculine cards. Most crafters will agree that they are hard to make with so many stamp sets and papers geared towards women. Stampin' Up have listened to their customers who have been asking for more masculine stamp sets and this is one of the sets that has been released in the mini catalogue as a result.

French Foliage is an easy stamp set to overlook, but the variety of images in it make it a very versatile stamp set. Here I have used one of the three leaf images and the script. You can see the images here a bit more clearly.

I masked the top two thirds of the card off with scrap paper and then stamped the leaf design in Old Olive, a really rich and deep colour in the Brights collection. I then stamped over the leaf image with versamark. I started doing this with the stamp-a-majig but quickly realised that I didn't need to as I could position the stamp quite easily as it was a clear mount.

Once I had stamped over all of the images I added clear embossing powder and heated to set. This provided a resist then when I stamped over the card in Crumb Cake using the script stamp. I finished off the card with the gorgeous seam binding ribbon in Crumb Cake and added the "thinking of you" sentiment from the Trendy Trees stamp set. This typeface is quite uncluttered and clean and so I think it works really well for men's cards.

I hope that you like this card, I absolutely adore it, one of those cards that you look at and smile and only send to someone that you know will appreciate it! Remember that you can order Stampin' Up supplies from me 24 hours a day 7 days a week and that you can qualify for hostess benefits even if you don't have a party, just by placing an order.

Don't forget Stampin' Up's extra £20 for hostesses this month, why not book a party for me this month or next and reap the benefits!
