Strength and Hope butterflies

Good Evening everyone. This week marks the start of a new series and I have decided to use the Strength and Hope stamp set from the Mini Catalogue this week. This stamp set is simply gorgeous, the elements are fantastic and at £12.95 for clear mount and £15.95 for wood it is a fantastic bargain.
What makes this set extra special however is that Stampin' Up will donate £1 from the sale of every set to Breast Cancer research.

The first project I have made is largely thanks to the lovely Joy Mitchell who introduced me to the baby wipe technique using the Stampin' Up ink refills. I inked up a baby wipe with three dots each of Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler and More Mustard inks and then dabbed it on glossy card stock. This created the mottled effect along the left hand side of the card.

The Butterflies were stamped on paper thin vellum with Cherry Cobbler and Cajun Craze ink and then cut out. The pearls from the basics pearls range finished them off (and hid the glue holding them on!). The sentiment came form the Occasional quotes hostess set and the pearls under it from the basics pearls again. These are an absolute bargain at £4.50 and the vellum is only £3.95 for 20 sheets.

Here is a close up of the butterflies which honestly doesn't do them justice as they almost flutter with the vellum being so thin.

So hope you like the card, check back tomorrow for a new one and thanks again to Joy for introducing me to the baby wipe mottling technique.
