Scrapbook page

Since I started with Stampin' Up I have made more cards than scrapbook layouts. I really love scrapbooking and I really need to finish my wedding album as we are nearing our 3rd anniversary!
I usually go for very ornate pages and end up not being able to do much to personalise them, so using one of Stampin' Up's lovely 12x12 textured cardstock pages as a base was a bit of a challenge.
Apologies for the messy craft room in the background. I wanted to go with very warm colours to compliment the colours in the photos so I chose early Espresso and Cajun craze. After the make and take made with the lovely Michelle Last at monthly training,  I was inspired to break out my spritzer tool and distress the paper. I also used the lovely Sanded background stamp to add a bit of depth to the Early Espresso and the Cajun Craze cardstock.
Here are some close ups of the page as the embellishments are quite hard to see.
Here I used a stamp from the Baroque Motifs set (p70 main catalogue, £28.95) and embossed it with gold Stampin' Emboss powder (p100 main catalogue, £3.75).
I did the same to this flower from the Tiny Tags set (p66 main catalogue £16.95 for clear mount) and then put a Beveled windowpane on it. The beveled windowpanes are new in the mini catalogue and are really useful for making your own embellishments. (p23 mini catalogue, £9.75)
Here again I used the Tiny Tags stamp set, I had skipped by this set a lot as I thought it was more for cardmakers than scrapbookers, but I find myself reaching for it whenever I make a scrapbook layout, it is just so useful, particularly with the jewellery tag. (p106 main catalogue, £9.75)
And my lovely flower, I first cut the Early Espresso cardstock with the Fun Flowers die ( p7 mini catalogue, £28.95) and then embossed it the same way I did the background with the Baroque Motifs stamp. Then layered the flowers and added the centre.

Phew, that's it! I have been using the Big Shot a lot recently and I find it adds so much scope to my projects. If you would like to have a go at using one, why not book a workshop with me and you can make a project using it to see what you think.
