Because I care vellum

Good afternoon all, what a lovely day we're having today now that we are all back to work!

Today's card is a lot more ornate than yesterday's card. I don't normally make cards with this much going on, but it sort of "grew" from the background paper. I stamped the flower head of the hydrangea on very vanilla card stock using Cajun Craze ink. This colour is beautiful and works beautifully with the neutrals colour family.

Once I had created the background paper, I mounted it on early espresso card stock. I love this colour and use it all the time, it is a wonderfully deep colour. I knew I wanted to stamp the flower in the middle of the card, but I thought that stamping it directly on to the background would make it disappear. Then I hot on the idea of using the velum and matting it on to Early Espresso card stock. I initially thought that it would blend into the back ground but it stood out quite nicely. When you stamp on to the vellum, you have to wait for a bit before using it as it can take a few minutes to dry.

The brads attaching the design to the rest of the card are from the Hodgepodge hardware kit which I adore, there is so much in it for only £25.95, but you can use the silver brads  £5.75 for 200.

The Because I care sentiment was stamped on crumb Cake card stock and punched out using the Decorative Label punch. I then punched an oval punch out of Early Espresso card stock and positioned the Decorative Label punch around the punched out image to make the top layer. The flower was stamped in Early Espresso ink on Cajun Craze card stock and finished off with a basic pearl.

Phew! well that's it for today, check back tomorrow for some mambo moods!

P.S Don't forget that my offer is still running for the free stamp set for anyone buying the starter kit, and free catalogues for anyone placing a £25+ order with me.
